Codec Problems

Postby Alchemist » Mon Feb 16, 2009 3:51 pm

I can't seem to get DVB Dream to accept a Codec/Renderer combination. Regardless of what codec I use and what renderer I select both boxes remain red and Clicking OK gives a "Graph couldn't be created" message.

I've tried both FFDShow and nVidia PureVideo codecs with no luck. Am I doing something wrong?

The only combo that works for me is Coreavc for H264 and Purevideo for audio. I can't never get FFshow or PDVD codec to work on my machine. Coreavc costs $ but can play 90% of H264 channel without problem. Occasionally on fast scene it will stutter a bit. I can use PDVD on MT beta 10, and it plays perfectly on all channels, but MT beta is not very stable and will crash occasionally. Maybe if saab cleans it up, I will consider getting a license. At forty bucks, I think he overcharges it.

Edit: Codec problems fixed themselves after I added some channels. Not sure what was up there, but now all codecs work fine with all renderers.

Now if I could just figure out how to get my channels to pull their names from the sats and how to get DVBEPG to switch channels when I click "Watch Now" or "Switch to Channel" I'd be good to go.

It is absolutely neccessary to to a scan (or having a pre-build Channellist with valid data) to get building a graph succesfully !

Some codecs and other demuxer, splitter, renderer need a valid signal to combine pins bewtween each other.
Especially when parts of the graph are created automatically.
I dont know exactly how rel is doing this...

AD-SP 400 not working w/DD

I am far behind this situation.
I have my Twinhan AD-SP 400 (1041) working fine with MyTheatre and I can't get it working it w/ DD.

I see that you report the 1041 as part of your equipment description.
It is working fine?
I tryed your driver (it is in my device driver list) but it didn't help.

A friend of mine has the same card and he had the same problem.
He got it working by lucky only after having installed and running MT.
It looks like MT set something properly for DD and made it work.
He got messed up with codecs and other things, reformatted his PC and he could not getting it running anymore.

He told me DD is better than MT and I'd like to give it a try.

Any help will be much appreciatted.

Curious !

I've had some probs with first installation approx. 2 years ago with an old (delivered) driver.

Actual drv is 1.1.0.800
Simply install or update via Windows Device-Manager if neccessary.
Install or start DD and select BDA-Device.
Don't forget to press the start-nutton in that window !
Card must work immedeatly.

I used it also to drive my STAB-rotor HH 120 in conjunction with my BDA_ALL-Device.
Works fine also.

PS: The TH 1041 has a little faster response when switching tansponders than e.g. my TT S2-3200.

I am not sure how I know that the card started.
With different drivers, a window pop up telling me that it cannot start device.
When I used you driver (and I believe it is 1.1.0.8), after I press start, a small blue rectangle appear briefly, but no window tell me that it didn't start.

May be I am starting it properly and my problem is somewhere else...
