Well I know genpix is going to blast me but I figured Id just let everyone know my situation. A month or 2 ago I bought a skywalker-1, only because it supports DN HD, and decided to put my DN in media center. I have never been able to get the skywalker to control the diseqc the way it should. I changed diseqcs and even double grounded the thing and still it wont change lnbs unless I restart dvbdream all together. This was becoming a pain to have to grab the wireless mouse anytime i wanted to watch a channel on a diff sat so I picked up a cheap 30$ hauppauge dvb card off ebay to test and see if it was dvbdream or the skywalker card itself. Sure enough I installed the haup card and it switches between lnbs perfectly. I even tried the skywalker with mytheatre and it didnt work but the haup did. I did a search on google for skywalker diseqc problems and I see that I am not the only one with this problem, there are tons of posts of people having the same issues. From what Ive read it seems to be a driver problem and thank god the people here are building a correct driver to fix this issue http://genpixskywalker.sourceforge.net/ . It would be nice if genpix would have these issues listed on his site so people would know before they buy, or atleast put some time in to create a driver that works for his product.

your problem has NOTHING to do with the driver.
And the link to BDA driver you posted would not help you at all.
If you don't believe me, ask those people who wrote that driver.

you don't need to double ground your dish. You need to ground it just once (but properly). Please describe how have you grounded your dish/switch/coax-cables.

can you describe your setup (switches, LNBs, etc)?
Is your hauppage DVB-s card PCI or USB?

PS: If you are not happy with your SkyWalker-1 you can return it for full refund (within 30 days after purchase date). You know about that, right?

its the only dvb solution for hd with DN so I cant say i am unhappy with it plus it has taken me more then a month to get set up because all i kept hearing was how it was the grounding or the diseqc so i kept having to check and recheck and try other things. as for the grounding Ive stated before I have the lnbs going into the diseqc then the it goes from there to a grounding block wich is double grounded. 1 ground goes to the main electrical box ground the other goes to a grounding stake into the ground. from the grounding block it goes to the skywalker. as for the hauppauge nova s plus its a pci card. I have an ultrasat 4x1 diseqc and legacy lnbs

the fact that PCI card is working fine and USB not is an additional indication that something's fishy with your grounding.

PCI card has a good electrical contact with PC case (which is grounded via 3-prong AC cord).
USB card has grounding via USB cable only (and USB port has 500mA maximum load). Small voltage power supply do not provide grounding (even if they have 3-prong AC cord). And if coax cable is grounded incorrectly, USB cable will not save the situation.

please do the following:
1) Start DebugView (Microsoft utility)
2) Start DVB Dream and tune sequentially to several transponders (two transponders per sat, Left and Right polarization).
3) close DVB dream

e-mail me the dump from DebugView (as attachment). And tell me what sats your were tuning and what order (which are shown in this dump), and which TP failed to tune/switch.

heres the log you requested, from sat 110/119 tuned 1 chan on 119 then 1 on 110 then back to 119 and back to 110. then restarted dvbdream. I have no idea what all this info means but if you do then you can see I got a pic on 119 but it failed to change to 110. then back to 119 i got a pic and failed again to 110 but after i tuned to 110 then restarted dvbdream there was a pic then it let me change to 119 but after that it wouldnt go back to 110.

I don't see any errors from SkyWalker-1 in the log
It locks on every transponder you asked (except 12311MHz).

What I see is a lot of errors from NVD3DREL (nVidia codec?).
It's not even DVB Dream (DVB Dream process has ID = 1504; and your NVD3DREL has ID = 3180).
Is it some kind of streamer?
Can you disable all plugins and try again?

Also, something does not add up in your description.
From you log I see,
first DVB Dream Run:
1) tune on TP 12224 on Diseqc port #1 -> lock
2) tune on TP 12399 on Diseqc port #4 -> lock (but looks like codec/streaming problem)

You said that second transponder in the log is from sat 110.
But TP 12399 on sat 110 is NOT QPSK (it's 8PSK). Though, in the log one clearly can see that 12399 TP which you try has SR=20000 and mod=QPSK (FEC = Auto).
You get lock, but it's not Sat 110. And it's not ini file from sat 110 (this TP is defined as 8PSK in the ini file).

Obviously, your settings are completely screwed up.
Probably, you have a lot of ghost channel in your database (which were scanned when you had wrong settings).
Now you may have corrected the settings, but ghost channels are still in the database.
You need to erase ALL channels and rescan again.

Or your description of what you are doing is complete mess.
In this case, it's very hard to debug it, cause you don't care to provide accurate description.
Probably, you don't even bother to be accurate.
You prefer do draw a wrong conclusions.

What LNBs do you use, by the way (you probably told that already in the other thread, but I can not find it)?
What ports of diseqc switches are used (and what Sat is on what port?)?
In another thread you told us that you use diseqc port 1 and port 2.
But here you are switching between port 1 and port 4.
Do you have anything connected to port 4?

your right i used to have them on port 1 and 2 but seeing as i could never get it to work right i tried changing the ports to see if it was a diseqc problem. as of right now port 1 is 110 and port 4 is 119. I am using dvbdream with dvblogic to watch in media center. i have a NVIDIA video card so if that is the error Im completely lost because the screen never blanks or pc never shuts down. I will rerun withought dvblogic and media center and post the log

heres the latest log. I went from 119 to 110, 1 ch on 119 1 ch on 110 repeatedly. all the channels on 119 started withought a hitch. every channel on 110 showed nothing. this was just dvbdream, media center was not running

What's the difference between Dual and Twin?

Probably, you have a lot of ghost channel in your database.
You need to erase ALL channels and rescan again.

In other words, you have no idea about condition of coax-cable connectors. And if previous owner had a bad cables/connectors, you continue to use bad cables/connectors.
Even more, since you did not put protective cups on unused connectors, moisture is already inside, and may have damaged the electronics permanently (as well as increased the electrical leakage, which overloads LNB controller - as I told you in the very first reply in the thread where you mentioned diseqc problem).
Furthermore, if you don't have water-proof connectors on coax-cables, water may have already corroded your cables. This also adds to the electrical leakage.

Ummm I dont know why I would expect the skywalker to work with the diseqc. Wait ya I do, because if I take the diseqc off and put the switch back on and disconnect the skywalker and hook the DN receiver up to it everything works great. It wasnt a previous owner, I had DN last year, I had it all installed last year. But if your telling me your product is nowhere near as good as any plain receiver then thats fine. I would love to hear it. How is it I have to replace everything to use your card but everything works fine for cable, sat, antenna, and even a dvbs hauppauge card. I will order yet another diseqc and when I hook it up I will silicone the entire thing to make sure there is no moisture and when it still doesnt work then what? 1 last thing i want to point out, it has worked this way since day 1 when on the same day a brand new diseqc was hooked up, before anything could go wrong it just didnt work
The lnbs are single with 2 coax connections comming out of each so my guess is that i was right and that they are legacy

Well it's kinda too late.
If the moisture is inside the cables and LNBs and you apply the silicon to them, you would simply seal this moisture inside the cable/LNB. Which makes the thing even worse.

to check that SkyWalker-1 can operate your diseqc switch you can do the following:
connect diseqc switch to skywalker, and don't connect any LNBs to it (you may do this in house, to avoid running back and forth).
When you switch to the channel which is supposed to be on port #1 of the switch, you should see DC voltage (13/18V) on Input #1 (you may need a short coax cable to make easy measurements), and 0V (or near 0V) on all other inputs.
When you switch to the channel which is supposed to be on port #4, you should see 13/18V on Input #4, and 0V on all other inputs.

no zippy i dont want to change my statement. like i said i dont have a receiver but as requested by you i borrowed one to set up the signal . so like i said last statement, if i hook up a switch and a receiver it works.
OK let me get to the point, first I am not putting you or your product down in any way. I am simpley stating that I think the one I bought is bad. Thats not saying that everyone you made was bad, but for some unknown reason you refuse to believe that. I am not the first person who has bought one of these cards and hooked it up to pre-existing cable lines, your crazy if you think everyone who buys a skywalker is rewireing there house. With that said, you dont see alot of people on these forums having problems, so hooking it up must work fine. But to anyone who has a problem with the skywalker all you say is ground ground ground. Since my first post thats all Ive heard over & over again Ive said that it is grounded propperly and even added a new ground so now its double grounded. Yet you still say ground. You refuse to believe there may be something wrong with your card.
Like I said in the last post, everything was hooked up original for DN, it was all siliconed and sitting there. when i recieved my skywalker I read your install instructions, went on the roof and took the switch off, breaking the silicon, and hooked up a brand new out of the box diseqc. then I checked the ground and hooked up the skywalker. thats when I ran into the dish being off so I borrowed the neighbors receiver, hooked the switch back up, hooked the reiever back up, and set up my signal. then after that was done i hooked the diseqc and skywalker back up and have been having the same issue since. I have tried 2 different diseqcs and I just ordered a third. Like I said in my first post on this board, I dont think the diseqc is switching correctly. I had to hook 1 line up at a time to scan channels or else it would find the same channels on each port, hence not switching the diseqc. now that all channels are scanned it still doesnt switch the diseqc, as ive said many many times

Please re-read my previous post (after "added:").
then report the results of this test.

If your diseqc switch works without load, and does not with the load (your two LNBs), it means the load is too high.
This was exactly what I meant under overloading SkyWalker-1 (heavy load attenuates 22kHz signal).

PS: You may get away with tone switch (instead of Diseqc switch).
It's more resistant to attenuation of 22kHz signal.
