a friend of mine has a dish 1000 on his roof and says i can have it if i take it down. my question is will it work with dvbdream. it has a DishPro Plus Twin LNBF and a DishPro Dual LNBF on it. can i use these lnbs in dvbdream to pick up 110,119, and 129? or would it just be easier to get an older single lnb dish to point at 129 directly?

yes, it would work.
One caviar though:
DPP Twin + DP combo need more current then regular DVB-s card can provide (it's too much even for SkyWalker).
You need to add power inserter to it.
Power inserter from DPP44 works well (and can be found relatively cheap on eBay).

Also, dish 1000 is a small dish. It has a reflector which is about 1" smaller then the one on Dish 500. So, compare to dish 500, you may get lower signal strength. And if your reception is already very weak, dish 1000 is not for you.
Dish 1000 was already discontinued, by the way.
1000.2 is a replacement (it has a bigger reflector).

PS: I have original (small one) Dish 1000 on my roof. And here in Northern California I get signal quality in the range of 70-110% (reported by genpix tuner; these are the same numbers used by DishNetwork receivers until they change the scale in recent firmware versions).

DPP44's are around 50$ on ebay so I think I will pass there and just get an old single lnb dish off craigslist. what about this dish 1000.2 on ebay, what kind of lnb is this? 3 singles or a triple.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MEWAX:IT

you do not need DPP44, you need just Power Inserter for this switch.
Which you can buy separately on eBay.
With buy-it-now price under $20 (for instance, h++p://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160410445507).
Or you can get it even cheaper (if you are ready to bid and wait).

as to the the picture you showed, it's a triple-headed LNB (with internal DPP switch) with an input for additioanl DP LNB (fourth sat).
You still need a power inserter for it (the same as above).
