under the disqec settings what does the last tab do whats it used for it by default is set to disable(committed) should i set it to use the ports on my disqec switch that i am using or should i leave it disabled

Unless you have uncommitted switches, leave it disabled. Uncommitted switches are cascading switches and are used usually to switch between committed switches. For example to see 8 different orbital slots you would use two committed 4x1 diseqc switches and one uncommitted 2x1 switch. Committed and uncommitted switches are different and use different diseqc commands. Most switches, unless they specifically state they're uncommitted, are of committed variety.
