No mater which combination of available video codec and video renderer I choose I always get this same message. My only choices for video are intervideo (v7.0.27.191 - 17.1.2006, ati (v11.6.0.181 - 25.11.2010), microsoft mpeg2 (w7) (v6.1.7140 - 13.7.2009) and ffdshow (v1.0.7.137 - 27.1.2010). My only choices for video renderer are generic, overlay, video mixing renderer 7, video mixing renderer 9, and enhanced.
I have loaded and removed several different codec packs including the cyberlink one, I have gone to ATI web site and updated the drivers and still I can not find a compatible codec and rendereer.
Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong or what I need to do differently?

maybe something you have installed broke directshow part of Windows , which DD uses.
I would recommend you to try 'Direct Connection' option in video options below codec selection boxes. Try with Microsoft codecs and WMR or EVR simply.
If it doesn't work, you might need to re-install Windows, and then try again on a clean system.

DVB Dream - because I have to dream about having time to code it
I tried your suggestions nothing worked. I still get the same error message. I erased the disk and reinstalled win 7 64 bit without adding any codecs. I did not update any of the drivers beyond what windows wanted to do. Now, I only have three choices for video codec (ati now at version 10 instead of 11), the microsoft mpeg2 and none.
I checked the "direct connect" box and still have the same error. I can run MCE with a hauppage tuner for over the air TV and I can play videos without any problems. Any suggestions? What is next to try or do I just give up on using DVBDream?
