1. One Satellite Item - I'm newbie, but went into "Options/Transponder/Satellites" menu, and could not save a satellite to have access to when scanning. Just the initial setup satellite is all that I can choose.

Is there is a manual work around via editing some file?

You should also add the new satellite into diseqc list for them to appear in scan menu. (Main menu->Options->Diseqc) Otherwise it won't display the satellite.

Assuming you already added new satellite and its transponders.
