DD 1.7a, Diseqc issue

Postby littlesmurf2 » Wed Jan 11, 2012 6:04 pm

Hello,

I have the following config:
Windows7 32,
genpix dvb card with BDA drivers,
2 Dishes: one for 61.5 and one for 91 and 82.
All 3 lnb are going in to a diseqc switch seesat sd-41m
On port 1, I configured sat 82w, in port4 91w and in port3 61.5w.
With DD 1.5e; f and g everything was fine but now with version 1.7a it is working only port1.
Other dvb players are working well.
I did:
1- uninstall, delete all files, reinstall 1.7a, reconfigure same issue
2- uninstall, delete files , reinstall 1.5g , reconfigure, works fine.
3- just installed 1.7a over 1.5 issue came back again.

if i`m scanning port 1 It is showing channels from port 1
if i`m scanning port 3 : no signal
if i`m scanning port 4 : it is scanning channels from port 1
If I`m using the channels scanned with version 1.5x, after installing the last version of DD i have signal only on 82W. No signal on 61 and 91.

If i`m removing the diseqc and I`m scanning any one it is working well
I changed the diseqc with digiwave dgs-41m same issue.
I have NO problem with MT, but I preferred and I just bought DD :)

Is this a bug ? Am I doing something wrong?

Thank you!

Genpix BDA driver supports both diseqc interfaces:
1) diseqc commands introduced in PBDA satndard (work on Windows 7 and newer versions)
2) old "set range hack": because original BDA standard did not support diseqc commands at all, someone decided to use rarely used (or ever used) "set range" function to send committed diseqc commands. Later, other monufacturers adopted this hack as well.

as you can understand, this old hack supports committed diseqc commands only (no uncommitted or raw commands, no motor for dish either).

It's possible, that this old hack was omitted in BDA interface (*.dev file) in ver 1.7.
Thus, your committed diseqc commands don't work anymore.
I'm surprised that Rel has not started support of PBDA diseqc commands (they are getting very common now).

If you use DVB Dream only, you may switch to Genpix WDM driver. gp_unified.dev interface (it works with Genpix WDM driver) has a full support of diseqc commands.

soon there will be full support for that, I am currently improving DD's BDA interface.

you mentioned that you have one dish with two LNBs for 82/91.
Are you sure you have two separate Single/Dual LNBs there?
Cause if you have Twin LNB there, it won't work as you think it would.

Do you use genpix WDM driver now?
you have to use gp_unified.dev interface with DVB Dream now (either ver. 1.1.8 or 1.1.9, depends on the firmware version in your SkyWalker).
Please do the following:
1) start DebugView (Microsoft utility)
2) start DVB Dream and try to scan few transponders, both polarities on each satellite
3) close DVB Dream
send dump from DebugView to me (attachment to e-mail), or attach it here to the post. Don't copy and paste entire dump to the post (thread will become long and unreadable).

thanks Rel,
This weekend, I'll try to run your latest DD version with my BDA driver (debug version) to see what exact disecq messages does the driver receive.

.
First i reinstalled my windows. I have Acronis image made after everything was installed excepted codecs , players and dvb drivers and software.
After that i installed genpix wdm drivers , and dvbdream 1.7a.
Scanned , and debugview results:

Now, i think , after you said to me to install wdm drivers, somehow I changed my transpoders . ini with wrong files.
All my turbo-8psk becomes 8psk..
As long I used BDA driver I'm 100% sure that i had good ini.
I don`t know from where i copied that files but ...

So, now it is working well
Thank you

in the log, I see several transponders which say that there is a lock but at the same time they have
[3540] genpix 8PSK: WaitForXfer() timed out buffer = 0 ***********
lines after that.
As if data are simply not coming (and lock is lost).
What signal quality do you have on those transponders?
how big is your dish? do you need a bigger dish?

I really don`t know how much signal is for real. Every channel what I'm looking for has L=99 and Q=80-87
but I'm very sure that can't be true. I know there are many with L=37

I have 2 small dishes. Before i had one, 1.2 m, with 5 LNB's.
please see the attached file.
The top one is for 61.5. Maybe this one I will replace it with the old one. But not now, it is too cold.

I reinstalled the drivers , same
i remove dd completely an cleaned the registers, same
