How to change Channel Order?

Hi all,

This may sound like a stu*** question, but how do i rearrange the order of channels. I currently use DVBViewer, but am looking for something that crashes less often. In DVBViewer, you can either export your channel list and edit it in notepad etc then import, or just drag and drop to rearrange. I have tried exporting, but cannot find this option, and have also tried draging and dropping channels in the left hand panel but that does nothing.

I have also tried changing channel ID using the inbuilt channel editor and CHLEdit, but you cant alter this?

I will be using FREESAT uk and will be using the EPG Module so channel order is important for me.

I can sort by channel name etc but that is no good I need to have full control over which channels are where.

Use the remote tab - it displays by chno.

I can add official FSAT numbers in module but best to use paytvproviders because everything listed.
The EPG module will run in the background and keep FSAT/PAYTV providers numbers always up-to-date. The idea is then to use remote tab to see channels in correct order.

There is also drag and drop checkbox in right click for remote tab window.

I did give that a go, but the EPG plugin was still showing the normal channel order and I couldn't work out how to change it. Thanks for your reply btw

In DD's own internal EPG window, you can simply click on header where "ChNo" is written. then it should display it in the order of remote tab.

If it is Momotte's dvbepg module, I can't say anything about how it works, it is 3rd party.

It is the 3rd party module that I am using (the one from the homepage).
Is there anybody I can talk to or find info on this as I cant seem to find anything anywhere.

I have managed to get the remote tab working with a few channels in there, but there is no "sort by channel number" in the module's sort area. There are a few others but nothing of any use.

I haven't seen Momotte (the author of dvbepg) for a long while. Apparently he was last online in 2008. probably he already stopped working on DVB related things.

hmm. in that case, are there any other OSD EPGs or any way of setting the standard EPG to a more TV friendly format? (kind of like the SKY box "timeline" view"). This is my main way of watching TV, and on a 1080p TV screen the normal fonts are extremely hard to read, and only show now and next on the current channel.

I don't think there is any OSD EPG module/plugin other than dvbepg, sorry.
We have plans to improve EPG/OSD but it might take time. DD was designed to be a desktop application more than an HTPC. Maybe upcoming versions will let users do more things like an HTPC.

Ok no problem thanks for the support. I have managed to get the DVBEPG to sort in the correct order now (although it was very confusing).

For future refence (if anybody cares!),

DVBEPG refers to CH no as UserID
You must also alter the channel tab as follows:
Show known channels only (YES)
all others (NO)
