Prevent DD from changing devices

Postby Viewfinder » Tue Oct 08, 2013 9:20 am

I have 4 tuners so often run 4 instances of DD which works fine.

I also regularly use a USB DAB Radio dongle for radio programmes.

One thing I notice is that if I have the DAB Radio dongle attached, DD seems to recognise it as another BDA device, so when I open my DD instances, all the devices I had assigned to each instance has changed and moved up. One of the DD instances defaults to the DAB Radio dongle and not the tuner that I had assigned to it.

I can then see DD process running but no window appears as I think it is trying to do something with the DAB tuner.

Is there a way of excluding and stopping DD config from picking up the DAB Radio dongle as a BDA device or a way of making the device settings as I had set?

There is currently no way but I got the problem, will need to think some solution. DD stores the index of the device. That causes the problem.

Did you get a chance to find a solution for this?

I have a similar problem because of a changing device list.

@rp - No solution yet, I am just making sure I open my DD windows before I plug in the DAB dongle so that DD is using the correct order first.

@rel - Thanks rel, that would be ideal if device index was stored in settings.ini or its own ini file.
