"DVB DREAM FORUM RULES" - annoying?

Postby Dreamer » Tue Jun 20, 2006 12:26 pm

I think DVB DREAM FORUM RULES in current form, is annoying, it is hard to use buttons (bold, quote, url...) in window mode and it's completely useless for all advanced users. Also it's not very effective, there are still posts without PC config./OS/card...

I suggest a standard way of forum rules - Announcement topic "Forum rules - read first!".

What do you think?

useless for all advanced users
advanced users could use codes too (quate, url etc instead of buttons)

What do you mean exactly? I see that shortcuts (alt+b, alt+w) work now, but I tried it earlier on other phpBB forum and it worked not so good...

I still think it more useless, than useful - it's 12 lines, What about some option to disable it, or auto disable if user posts X posts (50 or 100), or not possible?

What other users think?

when i find more time, I can try that or another way

I use [ quote] or tags etc most of time on the forum. (I write tags directly)

btw, I dont care what other users think :) it is annoying but I need its to be there.

Guess I better get my coding books out and do some research as to what the different codes are eh?

Run the board the way you see fit rel, user will adapt to it :D

it is not that difficult, most of times you will need just following tags.
....[/ quote] = quoted texts

[ url=http://www.dvbdream.org] Home page [/ url] = links

you can get more help on phpbb.com about forum codes (better to call as tags probably)

btw, added some ranks to forum just like the ones in old DD forum.

Of course, we can only make suggestions, you (Rel) have to decide. :)

I use those buttons in all other forums, therefore it is still easier to use buttons for me.
