Widescreen monitor problems

From CZ/SK forum...
Wide channels (letterbox) don't have correct AR on wide (16:10) monitor(s), there are also some problems with picture quality.
I can't test it, but I plan wide (16:10) monitor soon, so it's very important for me, so...
...any widescreen (16:10) monitor user here??
Edit: so it looks AR is OK, but if anyone could test it, it would be great.

Hello,37" LCD 16x9 over here anything i can do to help.
I'll have 16:10 LCD, I think 16:9 LCD should work better, but...
1. Is aspect ratio correct - on channels with AR 16:9 and 4:3 - in fullscreen and window (TV window) modes?
2. Do you need to switch AR manually for 4:3 / 16:9 AR channels, or it works automatically?
3. Can you zoom the picture to fit the screen (I mean to remove any black bars)? I think this is possible only by ffdshow. It will make more sence for 16:10 LCDs, because black bars are not so big there (at both ARs 16:9 and 4:3). More info about ffdshow (if you'd like to test it):

now in v1.3;v1.3 will support all the following aspect ratios
4x3
16x9
16x10
1x1
5x4
221x100 * I dont know if there are monitors using this AR at market but definition is used in VLC

AR of monitor is automatically recognized, you will just need to specify the AR of broadcasted video. This is not automatic but provides more options to users. (like Embedded AR and Stetch Embedded AR)
-----
DVB Dream - because I have to dream about having time to code it
It is even automatic sometimes, with New Cyberlink and ATI, but only with Overlay renderer.now in v1.3;

Check this topic, try to change renderer (VMR9/overlay) or toggle overlay in ffdshow.
Edit: OK so it's a bug, wait for 1.3a patch please.

DD should automatically detect your monitor's AR, so it should work, there are also new AR options (right click in main window - Aspect ratio) and "zoom" options (+keyboard shortcuts - read changelog).
For ffdshow - hope it work, right? You can try any option, I don't use anything special (yet), but I will, as soon as I buy new wide monitor (this month).
