I can blind scan, and then view these channels with crazyscan, but have yet been able to stream them with anything.
Same for ABC and for that matter channel 9 on intelsat 19

Yesterday I had a fiddle and was able to view these, with the DVB Dream trial.
Purchased the software today and installed. I can blind scan them, I can lock transponder, but no channels are scanned.
Is there any way to stream these new multistream formats? The old transponder will shut off the end of November and I haven't seen a STB that is capable yet.

Hi,
Can you see the video from the channels in DVB Dream and VLC through DVB Dream ? You can enable streaming in DVB Dream settings, and stream channel(s) to VLC, then watch it over there on the same computer or on your network on another TS/UDP capable viewer
I'll try to help you. Can you send me some sample TS record for me to work on?


How to capture a sample stream
1) Depending on the device you got there, you might first need to enable "Full TS" mode in device options & restart DD
2) start "TSWriter2" (or "Stream Recorder") module (under DD main menu->Modules) on the problematic transponder, record about 200 mb
3) upload file to somewhere (pcloud.com, justcloud.com, dropbox, google drive etc). and send links to me

Ok, after quite a bit of testing I have had some wins, and a lot of losses.
Device TBS 6903 (Prof DVBS2 dual tuner) in an MOI Pro AMD running windows 7 (3 X 6905 as well)
I can now scan and view the channels in DVB Dream, before I couldn't.

Steps needed.
1) In DVB Dream set device as StreamReader 1215 Device
2) Blind scan the Satellite and save transponders
3) In DVB Dream set Device as BDA Device
4) In DVB Dream Manual Scan
5) In DVB Dream select desired APSK transponder
6) Start CrazyScan and scan then at the same frequency, carier search and stream the transponder required.
7) In DVB dream Tune that transponder and select from the drop down the SubStream ID
In DVB Dream Scan and save channels
9) Close Crazy Scan
10) In DVB those transponder channels are now working until you restart the PC.
11) After PC restart, perform step 6 then start DVB Dream.

It gets even wackier when I copy the DVB Dream folder and try and use another transponder with the second tuner on that card.
It appears that if DVB Dream drops the signal I need Crazyscan to restart it again.

I cannot download the file, get an 404 error. After checking the the TS sample, I will be able to help fixing "Nameless" channels.

In rare cases, for some feed transponders etc, you might also need to specify PLS code (by specifying code mode and value).

We need to eliminate step 6 (you don't need CrazyScan to tune) , right now I am talking to TBS engineer to clarify how to set 16APSK modulation in their API, without waiting an answer from them, I wrote a test version. Please patch your DD installation with the attached file and try to tune to 16APSK transponder (by using 16APSK or ACM modulation in DVB Dream manual scan dialog.
Copy (Overwrite) this file to "C:\dvbdream\Devices\bda_extensions"
After the patch, restart DD, try without step 6 (just tuning on DVB Dream) and send me your log files (all files from dvbdream\logs) folder.
Let me know if it locks now.

In your second copy, did you select the second tuner in DVB Dream device dialog (CTRL + D) ?

Yes I have 0 for SBS and 1 for ABC.

The file you provided did not make a difference.

I have the channel names now. All is good except the tuning.
VLC can play the stream. The stream is stable and ran well overnight.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.



I have put a lot of time into making this work so hopefully we are on the homeward stretch.
If so I will point another dish at intelsat 19 and have a go at the channel 9 program streams again, which are the same format, that would be a real bonus. I tried 9 a while ago and gave up, at the time we had another way to get them.

I will stream the whole TS to another machine (The stream processor does not recognize the current stream format) then transcode and forward the streams I need into the mux. Less than perfect but HD streams would over-saturate the bandwidth.
TBS tried to help me last time when the MOI Pro was running on their version of Linux and running TV Headend. They never got it to work (on 16apsk) so this is the closest I have been to a working stream.

After getting this stable the next step is to find a turn key solution for the many others that rely on the ABC and SBS here.

I have used the newer streamreader to get blindscan, sometime today I will try and make a list of exactly what files I have used that work.

I already do this with some current streams. I do time shift on some individual channels, the main program used has FFmpeg at it's core. Selecting the stream can be a bit hit and miss depending on source and how it defines the PIDs. The cpu usage goes up with transcoding but with server hardware and plenty of ram, it's all good. 8 physical cores and 8 gig ram is good for 5 transcode and 1 timeshift 24/7. Timeshift likes a SSD.
For the streams from DVD Dream I will need to use another network to keep the HD from swamping the main network, the transcoding pc has 4 gigabit ports so no real problems there.
