8in/1out switch with diseqc 1.2

Postby vladomir » Thu Dec 14, 2006 7:09 am

Hello, I have SS2 and "centauri S168" 8in/1out switch to run more than 4 satelites, but this switch supports only diseq 1.1 and 1.2 and dvb dream supports diseqc 2.0 and raw diseqc. Is it possible to run dvb dream with patched SS2 driver using the raw diseqc? As I know it is possible to use the 1.2 diseqc on prog dvb, but I like much more dvb dream, thank you.

That switch has a committed 4x1 diseqc switch internally cascaded to four uncommitted 2x1 diseqc switches.

Should be able to just enter in the raw commands for that type of switch set up and you are done.

You should have all the raw commands you need here;
Committed lnb1 raw command E0 10 38 F0
Committed lnb2 raw command E0 10 38 F4
Committed lnb3 raw command E0 10 38 F8
Committed lnb4 raw command E0 10 38 FC
Uncommitted lnb1 raw command E0 10 39 F0
Uncommitted lnb2 raw command E0 10 39 F1

Should look like this;
E0 10 38 F0 E0 10 39 F0
for Committed port 1 (or A) Uncommitted port 1(or A)

The switch label has the port markings Uncommitted and Committed.

Hi I tried doing the set up mentioned above but did no get good results; obviously I am doing something wrong and I need some help.

- Do I need to input any data on the type of LNB I did in my case Ku Circular?
- Do I need to do anything in the Uncommitted tab there are numbers from 0 till 10 or so or do not touch it at all?
- In the raw command for each LNB do I input only the number i.e. ( E0 10 38 F0 ) and the next for following one?
- This is what I trying but no go: this is for 8 LNBs added?

Committed lnb1 raw command => E0 10 38 F0
Committed lnb2 raw command => E0 10 38 F4
Committed lnb3 raw command => E0 10 38 F8
Committed lnb4 raw command => E0 10 38 FC
Uncommitted lnb1 raw command => E0 10 39 F0
Uncommitted lnb2 raw command => E0 10 39 F1
Uncommitted lnb3 raw command => E0 10 39 F2
Uncommitted lnb4 raw command => E0 10 39 F3

I got it working now... You will have to use either all commited commands or all uncommitted commands... Second post was misleading!

Please let us know in detail how you did it! (Please answer your own questions)
Also, please include any settings in the 22kHz tab?
Thank you

Hello, I have SS2 and "centauri S168" 8in/1out switch
Second post is for the Centauri S168 switch, which has both committed and uncommitted in one switch.

There is a new 8X1 switch by Digiwave, that has eight uncommitted ports. (The digiwave switch can be cascaded in front of 4X1 committed switches for 32 LNBs).

8in/1out switch with diseqc 1.1

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I bought the following 8 x1 switch off e-bay and cannot make it work with DVBdream. May be jerry or someone else has some advice.

The switch plate: GD-81A Multiprotocol programmable DISEqC switch
8 in 1 DISEqC 1.1

I think I tried using all possible DISEqC settings in the DREAM diseqC menu. Port one is usable, but none of the other 7 ports seem to pass a signal, no matter what the settings are.

What should be the settings in DREAM ????

DiseqC Switch Type: NONE, MINI, DISqC v. 1.0 or2.0 ????????

Port 1 Properties ???????? ( on my 8x1 Switch is E6)
Port 2 ( on my 8x1 SW it's E7)
Port 3
Port 4 ?????????

LOF 1 11250000 LNB Type : NA Legacy

Raw Diseqc Tab
E0 10 39 F0 (used for LNB 1)

22 kHz Tab ????? controlled by LOF Sw ON Off ?????

Uncommitted Port Switch: Disabled 0 , 1, 2,......... ?????

How do I find the right settings for this switch? Unfortunately there were no instructions in the box.

Thanks for any help

Did you try uncommitted switch setings? There is a tab when you add satellites, in that dialog. select None as diseqc switch type, then assign different uncommitted port numbers to each satellite you add.
DVB Dream - because I have to dream about having time to code it
