crashing when started on hd chanel

been crashing big time if I restart on hd chanel,wont let me recover even with task manager. I installed power dvd h.264 codec which seemed to take the place of core h.264 and I think thats what did it,so I uninstalled power dvd 7 codec but now I have a blank in h264 codec spot. do I have to reinstall program to get core H 264 back?would apreciate any tips on crashing with this program.

tried unistall and reinstall of dvb dream and em**ation instead of vpl** ,reinsalled core h264,still wont start on hd, will work if started on sd station and switched.If stuck I have to remove plugins folder before statring to change off of hd chanell.
