I have a Genpix card, Cyberlink is selected as my video encoder and Intervideo as my audio encoder, and I have VMR selected, but the color of my video and recordings are very orange and dark. If I select VMR9 the color of live video becomes normal, but not my recordings. The color options are grayed out for VMR. What can I do?

I'm not sure about this but I've been having trouble getting compliant mpeg-2 files that work in other programs, and I think VMR is the best selection to get workable files. I haven't tested this out fully yet though. Is this right, or does picking VMR over VMR9/Overlay not affect how the video is recorded? :?:

Digital is digital. There's only one reason that a recorded file would play differently than a live one, the playback application is using a different codec or one with different settings, or a different renderer.
The renderer shouldn't make any difference either, but video cards can be strange animals.
It's going to take a lot of trial an error, some codecs just won't play nice with some renderers on some video cards.
I'm using Elecard and Intervideo with the generic renderer on a Matrox 550. Every computer I've set Dream up on with different video cards have different codec combinations.
For playback of Mpeg files, I have FFDshow handling that in Winamp.
