Scheduler missing channels

Postby Zengrath » Wed Jan 31, 2007 5:56 pm

First i want to say after trying at least 4 other DVB software, So far I've had the most success with DVB Dream and appreciate all the work that went into this great program.

I just have one little thing i can't figure out, It is probably very simple but i couldn't find anything in these forums using the search function about it.

The scheduler doesn't seem to list all the channels that was scanned. I can select ether satilite in the scheduler list, but I don't understand why most of the channels do not show up under ether one. I've spent a good hour trying to figure it out.. If anyone could please tell me how dum I am and how to click on the magical button to fix this please let me know! :D.

By the way great software!

Actually, now that i look at it again. The scheduler shows 2 satilites. 1 of which is correct, that is 110, all the channels seem to be working. But the 119 satilite in the scheduler isn't the same satilite that is in my channel list. Most of the channels it shows in the scheduler i don't have in my channel list, and vise versa.

Why is it showing a totally incorrect satilite and where is the one i have? It has the proper name, but not the right list of channels. Really odd.

I spent all day trying to figure out why the scheduler doesn't show the correct channels, Only thing i didn't try is reinstalling dvb dream from scratch. I'm going to try that tommarow. But i did want to say that both satilite channels are all messed up. Some are correct, while other channels that show up in the scheduler doesn't exist in my channel list, or channels in my channel list doesn't exist in the scheduler. I'll reinstall dvb dream, do a re-scan and see if that fixes things.

This is very disappointing that every single dvb software i've tried has it's own great unique features yet every one has a huge drawback that makes it useless for me.

progdvb was good, But recording was way to choppy no matter what codecs i've tried. I tried the trial version of mytv, But i had problems with recording yet again. Tried ritz and couldn't get anything to scan at all. Tried alt-dvb which worked great, except that it was totally unable to download any information about the channels other then their SIDs in hexadecimal form. Which h'm not to happy about having to manually input each channel i need, and then if i have to update anything in the future, having to do it all over again..

Finally DVB Dream seems to do everything i need, except i can't get the scheduler to show the same channels that are in my channel list.. Seems like it was bee such an easy fix.. If that one little thing was working this program would be absolutely perfect for me :(

If anyone can give me some idea's on how to change the way scheduler shows the channels. Please let me know, Is there a file i can delete possibly to repopulate the channel list in scheduler ? Or is there some configuration or setting somewhere that I'm missing that would correct the issue? Is there a file i can manually edit to possibly copy paste channels into the scheduler from my channel list?

I'd greatly appreciate anyones input,

Thank You.

I messed around a little more with the scheduler before heading to bed, and this time i tried some tests by telling the scheduler to start recording on channels that didn't match up and i realized that the names of the channels in the scheduler match up. It's the numbers next to them that's incorrect.

So as long as i go by the channel name, i'm fine. I am so used to going by channel number that i didn't realize that the channel names where correct.

So now this program does everything i needed :)

Thanks for the great software!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
