FFDShow audio decoder and DVB Dream

I have tried to get this combination working since I started using DVBDream. I always get "Incompatible codec or renderer combination is selected. Graph couldn't be created." error.

I am using DVB Dream 1.4i and FFDShow 1.05.123 dated 12/6/2007.

I really need this to work for the volume normalization that FFDShow offers.

Is there a magic version I need?

Same error. This has been an issue that has persisted across 3 different computers and 4 different versions of DVB Dream. The only audio decoder it will let me use is the nVidia audio decoder or null (no Cyberlink, no FFDShow, No AC3 Filter).

WTF? Others are using FFDShow, and FFDShow works with everything else. What versions are you people that are having success using? The version I have works with MPC, MP9, MT, Prog, AltDVB, and as I recall, MediaPortal, but none of these other DVB apps support my Skywalker-1 and MPEG-4.

I can use FFDShow video decoder for MPEG-2 in DVB Dream, but not for audio.

FYI, I am using hacked nVidia v4020.150.0.0 for MPEG-2, and CoreAVC v1.6.0.0 For h.264. VMR9 is the Video renderer, and Default Direct Sound Device for the audio renderer.

No, I haven't tried it. It's not my sound quality that is the issue. My sound quality with nVidia is fantastic. It's the difference in volume levels between providers, and even channels on the same provider sometimes. On Chuck it is much lower than on Beverly, especially on the HD channels.

So when you switch channels between providers, the audio goes from acceptable levels to very loud. FFDShow has a normalizer function that evens out the audio, so it doesn't go from soft to loud when you change channels. This works very well, and it is the reason I need to get FFDShow audio decoder to work with DVB Dream.

I really don't understand why it will work with everything else I have tried it on, but DD refuses to build the graph. I have also often wondered why DD comes with graphedit if I'm not allowed to use custom graphs.

I have read the post about loading the profiles to set FFDShow up for DD, but I can't load the profiles unless DD loads the decoder.

Supersnail:
I am having a similar problem as you have with version 1.4i p1.
Using the slider to change the audio level has no effect on my HD channels.
This works fine for me with SD channels.
It's annoying but I can live with that for now.

At least I have HD (h.264) something MT has promised, but still has not yet delivered

There is alot of stuttering lost frames when change a channel to h264. Restarting DD solves the problem, but why does it do it ?
only code for h264 that works for me is the coreavc. arcsoft stutters a lot all the time. Cybelink stutters too and there is audio out of sync.
How can this be fixed ?
