Please add a record timer to specify the amount of time or hour at which the recording will stop automatically, with the option also to quit the program at this time.
Also please add a sleep timer to specify the time to automatically quit the program.
Thanks,

I support this request!
I have already requested this, but I caan't find it, maybe it was in old forum...
Maybe there could be a "sub-button" for Record, as Back/Next buttons with these items: 30minutes, 1hour, 1h30m, 2h, 3h, 4h, 5h, 10h. First item could be "Renderless mode" - to start Rec. with renderless mode, or to toggle it anytime.
Then, in options (and also in menu maybe) could be timer option to: [x] Quit, [x] Power-off.
Edit: I remember other request, but I can't find it, so I'll start a new topic.

Waht I had in mind, is after pressing the record button, while the application is recording, set a timer so it will stop recording after a certain time.
The scenario for using this feature is:
- I switch to a channel and see a program I'd like to record.
- I press the record button and recording starts immediately.
- I check (in the newspaper, EPG etc.) when the program ends.
- I set the record timer to stop recording when the program ends.
If we'll have a "record from now for xx minutes" button, I will have to decide how much time to record before I start recording, and this will delay the beginning of the recording.
To my humble opinion, if we have a "set recording timer" button, we don't really need an additional "record from now for xx minutes" button.

Yes, but if someone would like just to stop rec.?
Check
this post if you would like it, there are much more suggestions, but there is also your "timer" button, it must be a separate button.
Edit: Or do you mean Scheduler
here?
- I switch to a channel and see a program I'd like to record.
- I press the record button and recording starts immediately.
- I check (in the newspaper, EPG etc.) when the program ends.
- I set the record timer to stop recording when the program ends.

these things are already possible with scheduler; just open it and add stop record and another event to close the program. or am I missing something?
if it's just about adding a toolbar button to do that automatically then forget it please; It'll just bloat the app.

Dreamer: I did not quite understand your question. I looked at the post, the timer button is fine, but please look at pvdeejay's reply, I think he is right.
pvdeejay: When I said "button" I didn't mean necessarily "toolbar button", it may be for example a menu item, a right-click-menu item or a "Record" sub-button.
I agree with you that it is not that important to justify adding a toolbar button, so we should avoid adding a toolbar button for this.
Using the scheduler for this makes sense, but currently the scheduler UI enables only adding recording events. If it would have the option to add a "Quit" event and a "Stop recording" event it would be fine, and then we can give up the special buttons.

That feature is just a part of my suggestion and that suggestion is about toolbar, some users don't need some buttons that are already there, but need others. First, important suggestion there is this:
"I suggest to add ability to add/remove/move any button."
It means that everyone could enable/disable any button and could customize whole toolbar, some users just watch TV, some record often, and some - feedhunters scan often. Useful features can't bloat a program IMO and better and customizable toolbar with new buttons would be useful - it doesn't mean more buttons necessarily.
But please reply there if you have any comment, maybe more buttons might be disabled by default...
"Sleep button" or Timer, as suggested in the other topic could be also menu item or keyboard shortcut. Toolbar changes are not possible yet maybe, so it would be enough for now...

Using the scheduler for Quit/Stop record is fine, and your suggestion is fine.
What I'd add to your suggestion is the ability to set an arbitrary timer period, for example 37 minutes, by openning a dialog box.
I'll add this suggestion to the other post.
Thanks.
