DSS support

Postby Rockin' Rick » Mon Jun 19, 2006 10:31 am

The Twinhan1020a supports DSS, it works in TSreader.
Could support for DSS be added to DD?
127 bytes packets and 6/7 FEC.
Most is encrypted but some is FTA.
Add 6/7 FEC to the list of available rates?
Add packet size to Diseqc setting?

Twinahn 1020A, WinXP Pro, Dual Athlon 1800, 3 meter C/Ku dish and toroidal Ku dish.

DSS is a different story, its standards are different and it is complex enough to support DVB and DSS at the same time for a simple DVB viewer. and it has limited usage (just few providers, probably in 3 countries)

I know it's awkward. I don't know of another card beside the 1020A that will demod DSS. Just a suggestion.
