Help with DVB Dream & Acamd - Picture freezing

Hi, i have just bought a TBS 6981 DVBS2 Dual tuner card (i am only using one of the tuners at the moment).
I have installed DVB Dream 1.5 and Acamd 6.20. I am trying to use the same server i use with my Dreambox 500HD for 28E (which i pay for). Obviously, i am not using both at the same time to put a load on the server (when this works properly, i will get another subscription).

On my DB500HD, the picture hardly freezes but using the same Newcamd settings put into the Acamd, my picture (for encrypted channels) seems to freeze every 6-7 seconds for a few seconds at a time.

Using the acamd monitor, i can see that the connection to the server is made but after a few seconds it is written "revc error, reconnecting" and another line says ECM...not able to decode" until the server reconnects and i can see picture again (in a continuous loop). I am assuming when the ecm changes, the plugin doesnt update in time (i really dont know)

I have been playing with settings for the last 3 nights and found that if i disable the ECM Cache in one of the filters, the picture now freezes for only half a second until it comes back.

Not sure if i have to edit acamd.ini or any of the other files which come in acamd 6.20

Using the same server, i dont know why i am getting very different results.

Hi, Sorry didnt read the forum rules before posting. I have copied the log file for acamd for someone who might be able to point me in the right direction.

Still, my picture freezes every 7 seconds on Dvbdream with acamd.
The same server with same login details works perfectly in my dreambox
Further down the logfile you it can be seen the connects to server and disconnects in a continuous loop.
Can anyone explain this?

I think you should better ask plugin developers about this problem.
It seems like some connection problem or ACMD setttings problem.
Try to watch the video by enabling DD timeshift ,and from a few seconds back. Maybe that will help with some ECM problems. I am not sure, as I have no idea how the plugin works.

Hi all,

I am pulling my hair out!

When selecting "disable ECM cache" the picture doesnt freeze for 7 seconds but still freezes for a second and appears more jerky

I cannot find any support for acamd apart from many people saying that this is the best plugin to use.

I have tried the timeshift thing.....still no luck.......the picture will also freeze (and then take me back to real time).

Forgot to ask, if my server was MAC address controlled, i shouldnt be able to see any picture at all - right?

it seems You are connecting to some server on internet and from time to time loosing connection.
Reestablishing connection takes longer than time between ecm packets thats why you get frezes
Acamd is quite good plugin but as any plugin for realtime decoding is quite sensitive to network problems (using it on lan gives superb results - usin it to share my card betwen PC and STB no errors unles network gets very busy )
As for Your problems are you behind a firewall of some sort (lan for example) second problem might be caused by the donor node being on dialup (i dont think this dodnor node is actually legar card sever, and as this seems to be pirate server sory i dont encourage piracy.

SOLVED

Turns out that Acamd was the problem. I changed to WINCSC and that sorted everything out. The server i connect to uses Newcamd5.25 and i think this plug seems to work well with that.
