1.4 - Memory usage is increasing slowly all the time

Postby Dreamer » Mon Oct 29, 2007 1:26 pm

Memory usage is increasing slowly all the time. Timeshift is disabled!

It's 80MB at start, after few seconds 93MB, after one minute 113MB, after 1 hour (at the same FTA channel) 213MB. :? After channel change it's about 80MB, then increasing again.

Same(?) issue reported in the beta test forum by ScanMan, for the version 1.4 beta 7 - released just few hours before the final version.
While watching the Taskmanager secondary i noticed a curious behavior:
DD starts with a memory amount of roundabout 115 MB !
Nearly every 1-2 second, this amount climbs up between 20-100KB !
After a few minutes 150MB will be overstepped - increasing becomes slower then but still happens continuosly.

What's that ? Couldn't be my interface...
Same happens with BDA-Native.
It seems to be a question of time the machine is running out of memory ?

Test-conditions: AMD 64 4000+, 2GB, SkyStar USB, XP prof., CPU-load for DD approx. 10%

Confirmed.

- Not related to BDA device (same issue with my PCTV Sat)
- Not related to modules (same issue with all modules disabled)

@Rel : Did you kept new array buffer structure in this release ? Perhaps, that's what causes this ?!?

EDIT : I confirm that this issue is related to DS, in renderless mode memory, resources utilization is stable.

Confirmed, too....
Happens also with my good old 'evertime-working' SS2 and driver 4.4.0 by MiBi.
Must be something wrong in the new DDSOURCE.AX ?!
