http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia ... x264.shtml

Not tested yet in DD.

x264 is a free library for encoding H264/AVC video streams. The code is written from scratch by Laurent Aimar, Loren Merritt, Eric Petit(OS X), Min Chen (vfw/asm), Justin Clay(vfw), Måns Rullgård, Christian Heine (asm), and Alex Izvorski (asm).

Here are some key features of "x264":

· CAVLC/CABAC
· Multi-references
· Intra: all macroblock types (16x16, 8x8, and 4x4 with all predictions)
· Inter P: all partitions (from 16x16 down to 4x4)
· Inter B: partitions from 16x16 down to 8x8 (including skip/direct)
· Ratecontrol: optional VBV, single or multipass ABR, constant quantizer
· Scene cut detection
· Adaptive B-frame placement
· B-frames as references / arbitrary frame order
· 8x8 and 4x4 adaptive spatial transform
· Lossless mode
· Custom quantization matrices
· Parallel encoding of multiple slices

Note: x264 is still in early development stage

hey dreamer
sorry for disappointing you but this one is for encoding only. I am using this to compress my video clips. it's excelent. Dshow interface to play its results is FFD show. it's why I am shouting for better FFD show compatibility if that's possible. so once again Rel if you can reserve some little of your sparetime to this it'll be very appreciated.
P4 3.0GHz 1024 MB of ram, nvidia Geforce 6600, SS2 rev 2.6, WDM drivers 4.41, SG2100, always latest DVBDream with the latest FFDshow.
