Preferences -> Performance -> Always retune

Postby genpix » Wed Sep 20, 2006 12:14 pm

DD 1.2c.
Either I don't understand what "Always retune" option means, or...

Brifly, I have this option Off (un-checked).
Nevertheless, when I switch to another channel on the SAME transponder, DD sends new tune command anyway.
Even more, it always sends DISEqC command (even I don't change Sat).

Correction:

I have "Always retune" Off (un-checked).
And I use DishPro style LNBs - bandstacking (LOF1=11250, LOF2=14350).

It does work on H/L transpoders (LOF = 14350).
When I select some other channels from this transponders, DD does NOT retune (it just sends DISEqC command).

But it does not work on V/R transponders (LOF = 11250).
DD sends retune command every time (besides "usual" DISEqC command), no matter what.

Is it just for DishPro stuff?
Cause DishPro LNBs use the same DC voltage (independent on polarity).
Tuner frequency is just calculated based on polarity (used either LOF1 or LOF2).

Looks like DD compares DP-style-modified tune settings of currenly tuned channel with NOT-YET-modified settings for newly requested channels (insted of DP-style-modified).
That's why "Always retune = OFF" works for odd transponders and doesn't for even.

No, just a bug in TP comparison routine. It was trying to compare ASCII "V" / "H" with polarization constants 0 / 1.

Fixed in v1.2d, thanks
