- Geniatech DigiStar 3 (DVB-S) by SiDz

Not working for me on Geniatech digistar. I replaced the bda.dev with the one in this archive, and setup my sats, 119W on Port 1, 110W on Port 2, and when I scan, I get the same channels no matter which sat I select. I have added in Raw Diseqc commands, same thing. Went into prefs and selected always force to resend, and set resend to 2, turned on delays after sending diseqc and after tuning and everything, nothing seems to work. voltage for bandstacking lnb's is currently set to 18v. Any ideas? Here's my config...

Geniatech Digistar DVB-S
connected directly to Dish500 DishPro bandstacking twin LNB (with internal diseqc switch to swap between the 2 eyes, and 4 outputs)(currently pointed at 119W and 110W for testing purposes while I'm trying to get this dumb card setup)

I tried the BDA patch with my Geniatech, no luck. Can you fix it, to make Geniatech work?

It is appreciated for your help. I like DVBDream. It works in my Hauppauge NOVA-S with the new patch now, but doesn't work in GeniaTech.

I have the same DVB-S card as yours. I have twin LNB and did manage to get both Astra and Hotbird after using this patch. But I couldn't get Astra afterwards for some reason. Could you tell me how did you made it work.

I would be more than happy to look at the code and make it compliant for Conexant based cards such as the Geniatech devices. I am a software engineer and have done some DVB work before. If you would like to do it yourself, here is the Conexant SDK plus a link to some example code in Media Portal that works.

I tried this last night, and it got my switch working, but it's still not able to talk to my VBox which I use to move my CBand dish. I also tried ScanMan's drivers, and had the same results: the switch worked but the positioner didn't. Is there anything I can do to make a positioner work with dream, or any information I can provide to assist in development of device support for the S2-3200?

Yes, I do. The path is from my PC to my VBox, to the switch, to the CBand dish.

Sorry I didn't start a new thread. I thought since I was attempting to use the new device support this thread was appropriate.

The attached BDA logs were generated on a system using a Digiwave 103g/Geniatech Digistar REv2.2 using the 20070323 'Vista Certified' version of the Drivers available on the Geniatech Website.

I opened the program and then attempted to scan the first transponder on LNB2 (I am using a Dishpro Quad lnb). The scan returned the channels from the first transponder on LNB1 - indicating no switch occurred.

Upon reading the log I realised that although I had selected 'NA Bandstacked Dishpro Ku-Hi(DBS)' as my lnb/switch type, the Diseqc commands were being sent to the wrong address (10 as opposed to 11). So I also attempted it with RAW diseqc commands. Again the same rsult, the scanned channels returned were from LNB1.

The setup is working as intended in MyTheatre, so there is no chance it is a setup issue.

I am willing to do any testing necessary to get DvbDream working on my hardware, just let me know if you need anything else.

bda_2008_06_14b is Working perfectly now with my setup on a Digiwave 103g (rebranded Geniatech Digistar Rev 2.2)

for additional information I have tested it using a Dishpro Quad LNB. I have changed my Diseqc settings for switch to 'None' to avoid the secondary calls when using RAW and now have it set up as:

LNB1 NA Bandstacked DBS - RAW Diseqc : E0 11 38 F0
LNB2 NA BandStacked DBS - RAW Diseqc : E0 11 38 F4

Thanks alot for the update, I've been envious of DvbDream's features for quite a while but the lack of diseqc support was holding me back. Now to play with/learn a brand new dvb setup
