locked channel password

since I updated to 2.2, I have a problem with locked channels that I did not have before. What is the password to unlock/unblock channels? Why was this default changed? How do I ensure that it does not revert the next time I scan?

0000 is the default password.
It didn't change.
between upgrades your CHL might have got corrupted. A clean install/scan might fix the problem for you

I tried 0000 and could not unlock the channels. I will try a clean install and rescan, but that is a long, involved process for me. That is why I was looking for some other solution

Next vesion 2.2a , to be released today, will include a master key, just like the most of STBs.
If you can wait a little, this can also help.
