DD crashes by starting a scheduled record

Postby lofl » Sat Jan 06, 2007 3:30 pm

When it crashes, DD is still "working", that means I see the main window (except the TV Window), but it's frozen and it doesnt react on my mouse clicks, and it's even recording my scheduled record but I have to stop the record manually by ending the DD process in my task manager.

This procedure is repeatable..

---> and it ONLY crashes when I minimize DD before. <---

It doesn't matter if DD has to change the TV Program before the rocording, or if the program is already the right.

And it also doesnt matter if I record in MPG or TS.

The cpu usage during the hang up is not high, even lower than normally (I think because it doesnt have play the video)

Video decoder: Gabest blabla (the standard, because I get an error when I want to use ffdshow)

Audio decoder: ffdshow

If you need more information, ask...

P.S. I like DD much, the PIP feature is cool and I hope this problem will be fixed soon, unless its a problem of my computer system

P.P.S. this was my first forum post in english, so forgive my faults please :D

Can't confirm, more info / exact steps please, e.g., FTA of scrambled channel? Do you use DD's scheduler or DVEPG? ...

FTA and DD's scheduler, not DVEPG

How-to:

- make a new schedule, e.g. at 8:00
- minimize DD at 7:59
- wait until 8:00 and reopen DD double clicking on the DD symbol next to the watch.. now my DD has frozen

When not minimized before, everything works well. I have no idea why..

Which kind of information do you need else? About my system or my DD configuration? Shall I attach any log/config file?

Yes, i mean also a freeze, not a crash. Sorry

I also tried it with other decoders (Intervideo Video- and Audiodecoder), so it doesnt depend on the codecs i think.

Any others who have got this problem?

Still can't reproduce. What version of DVBDream are you using?

I am experiencing crashing upon starting a scheduled recording as well... haven't been able to track this down as sometimes it works, and other times it doesn't.

I am using Vista... maybe it's a problem with that?

It seems like you guys, it's not really a "carsh" but rather a freezing of the app entirely.

The weird thing is that after I submit the error report back to DVB Dream, the app picks up right where it left off. I don't have to restart it or anything, it just works.

I have also noticed that it seems to always happen if I set a recording a few hours away but don't close DVb Dream. If I just minimize it for those 2-3 hours it will always freeze and my recording does not suceed.

Hope this helps,

Stream recording left?
any older wersions of epg was able to schedual recording .The 1.3c want work as well as internal scheduler?
