Interrupting manual recording by scheduled - complication

Postby J_N » Mon Nov 12, 2007 11:30 pm

In 1.3x was common for me this situation:
For example I wanted to schedule record something from 4 - 5am. From 10pm I just manually pushed record button on another channel. At 4am this recording was interrupted by the scheduled one. Automatically. Pretty normal sutuation. So why appeared in 1.4x versions this bothering warning ? :

"Channel will be changed due to a scheduled record. Do you want to let it stop the current record?"

Is it really necessary ? Thanks.

Hard decision - if the current record is more important than scheduled one, this warning is useful, otherwise you can still choose what to do, only if you're away, it's a problem. Perhaps an option would solve it.

Scheduled recording should have higher priority. For me, the manual recording just means that I don't have anything to watch, so I record a few hours of music (and later sort it out) till the start of the movie recording.
But option would be the best solution, no harm for anybody.
Thanks for answering.

If you record just music, it's OK, but if you'd record something important (as me ;) ) and scheduler would start something less important... Current behavior is better IMHO, because you can choose what to do, but option would be the best, of course.
