Ok I have everything sitting and ready to install for DN except for a dvb pc card. I was planning on buying a skywalker-1 but before I do that I would like to know 1 thing. Is there any other that will tune DN hd? Ive read a few things about dvb-s2 cards and other things so I would just like to know if there is another option available. thankyou

Hi Samcraig,

I have an AzureWave AD SP400-CI card.
Basically. this is a Twinhan 1041 card.
This card is able to receive DVB-S2 signals.

(the card I have, has an CI-board, but this is not recognised in DD. I have ordered a phoenix interface in order to watch channels I have a valid subscription for.)

So I could only test FTA-channels in DD. On 19.2e I have succesfully viewed the following HD-channels:
- EinsfestivalHD
- ProSiebienHD
- ArteHD
- AstraHD testchannel
- ZDF HD
- Das Erste HD
- Sat.1HD

In DD I had some h.264/AVC decoder problems, but this is fixed now.
But, when I had the problems with codecs, I still was able to fully view the HD-channel through VLC, running DD in 'renderless' mode.

(I bought the card 'used' from an auction site for only 35 euro's, so I guess I doesn't have to cost 'hundreds of dollars' )

Hope this helps.

Gr.
