EPG & remote question

Postby Glimmerman911 » Tue Oct 30, 2007 10:55 am

Just starting to test DVB Dream, and I want to use an EPG that I can use a remote control with.

For remotes, I have the remote that came with my Twinhan 1020a, as well as I have the remote for Windows XP Media Center Edition.

If I could use either remote with a decent looking EPG that would be great, what is my best option for an EPG?

DVBEPG is currently your only choice. Make sure you get the one ported for DVBDream. It is a module, it goes in the modules folder, it has a .mod extention. There used to be a link on DVBDream website but currently it is not there so look around.

Will either my Twinhan Remote, or MCE Remote work with DVBEPG by default?

Or will I have to use a program such as Girder to translate the signals for me?

Only EPG alternative:

http://www.dvbdream.org/release/dvbepg.zip

Twinhan remote should work fine with it.

but don't expect much.

Does DVBdream have an EPG built in? Is it better than DVBEPG?

it's a grid based epg much like a regular fta reciever. Though from a 1.3c standpoint the scheduling feature doesn't work. I've posted a question on it, but no replies. It's almost like the guy quit paying attention. Well it is a nice epg but no scheduling. There is also a skins folder you can/could copy to the modules folder that would give you some options as far as looks. Too bad the scheduling won't work or it would be the ULtimate! Good luck bud!

Well I need to be able to schedule, so I guess DVBEPG it is.

Scheduler in DVBEPG doesn't work good (here).

In v1.4 (internal EPG) there is "Add to scheduler" button already! Also EPG Scheduler extra time options.

The EPG for dvbdream only shows me scheduling information for the channel I am currently on, am I missing a setting or something that will display the scheduling for all channels, or even better, by favorites?
