So many problems with v1.4d!

Postby DocPookias » Sat Nov 17, 2007 5:55 pm

I'm experiencing so many problems with v1.4d I don't know where to start to list them, is anyone else experiencing the same? I'm now reverting back to v1.3c.

You're not the only one: was hesistant to switch to 1.4, but decided to pull the trigger. BAD MOVE.

Random crashes - some occurring when switching from satellite to satellite (motorized dish), stuttering when changing channels (even with 'Reset DS after channel-change' option checked), CORRUPT recordings, and like older versions, still can't record 2 HD streams (TS recording) simultaneously with PIP. Tried using older Genpix drivers instead of the 'Unified' that came with the latest DD, but still unstable.

I can't send in my reports as the Windows dialog box appears when the app crashes.

Went back to DD 1.3C.

I don't have so many problems, but just one of the above. The recordings are corrupt.

The problem seems to be with the audio/video synchronization or framerate. If I try to play a TS file (SD, H.264) with Media Player Classic I get the video delayed.

After converting it to MKV (Haali MKV Splitter) I get the video played twice too fast, and the audio with correct speed.

For example Yamb returns an exception when I try to load a recording:

Code: Select all

'$E0 / 642' is not a valid integer value
If I ignore it and click "next" I get:

Code: Select all

List index out of bounds
And it hangs.

About the recording issue. I can make one and send a file, if you need it for testing.
--------------------------------
I also have problems with image freezing, but I think it's a provider's fault as it occurs only on channels from one of two providers. No problem with channels from another (both MPEG2 and MPEG4 work perfectly).

DVB-T is during the test stage in Poland and as far as I know they do some experiments (both MPEG2 and MPEG4/AVC are tested), so I guess this is it.

Some time ago their transmissions worked fine, now they don't. For a few days even MPEG2 transmissions have been working not as well as expected. I think I'm going to wait. If it's got worse by itself, it may get better too, so I do not report any bug until I am sure, that it's application's fault.
