SkyStar2, SG-2100 and diseq 1.2 plugin by Mibi

Postby alexir » Mon Mar 31, 2008 12:07 am

I have problem with SG 2100 H-H motor using (it must be work with diseqc 1.2 command driving). DD positoner does not work ( It tested with varios SS2 driver patched by MiBi, and with the newest manufacture’s drivers). After i have set it (DD positioner), the try icon displays motor moving, but nothing happen. I had tried also with MiBi diseqc plugin, it works, but sometimes DD is crashed on double click. Another problem, the MiBI plugin executes changes of dish position only on double click and in this case i can not use my remote control. I would like to build an PC based satellite receiver system, wich will be usable for my family. At present form with needs of mouse and regular DD crashes it looks to be unusable. So, please help me. I'm ready to change my satellite tuner card or my OS or other, if it will be a solution of problem.
Thanks.
My satellite set:
Asus M2A-VN HDMI, AMD X2 4200+ (2200MHz), 2GB memory
Windows XP Extended 2001 + SP2 updated
Technisat SS2 2.6D with driver 4.4.1
Universal LNB, 60cm offset dish on SG2100 ( at 0.0 position it look on Astra 19.2)
SS2-2.6D, diseq 1.2, on XP, Asus integrated VGA, dual core AMD powered Home Theatre PC

I've got this working month ago...
The only thing you need is MIBI's driver for the SS2
>>> Nothing else more !
>>> No plugin !
Next to do is:
- Activate the Positioner in DDs Positioners-Window (TAB-Sheet 2)
- Assign the stored positions in motor to the listed SAT-Pos.
Normally that's all. Worked here very fine for a long time.
Attached the neccessary driver-file.

I will try once more

Postby alexir » Wed Apr 02, 2008 8:26 am

Hi ScanMan!
Big thanks for your response. I’ve done all of abovementioned instructions but unfortunately no other results. The driver SkyNET_4.4.0_SS2_DiSEqC_TEST.zip doesn’t work at all (after start DD was crashed). This driver looks suspiciously short (the manufacture driver is 410KB and this patched driver is only 349KB).
According MiBi no need of driver patching if I use driver version latter issue than 4.4.0. (http://www.dvbskystar.com/motordiseqc.html)
I will try once more. In first I will doing reinstallation of all software’s on my PC.
Another one question: Can I assign into the LNB properties (for all of satellites) a raw diseqc command and port number or it doesn’t mater is I use the positioner?
I will post it, if I get good result.

Sorry - i forgot an EXTREMLY URGENT thing:

THIS IS A WDM-DRIVER ! ! ! ... and has exactly the same size as the original ! 341 KB !
Do not confuse / mix it with a BDA-DRIVER. That will NOT work ! ! !

If using a BDA-Driver, you have to deinstall this one first and complete (delete the SkyNet.SYS from the machine and the corresponding OEMxx.INI if neccessary).
Better deinstall the hardware and reinstall again.

Then reinstall the WDM by using 'no, i select my own driver' (or someting else - i'm from germany and know only the german messages...).

AND ALSO URGENT: DO NOT ( N O T ! ! !) install the complete SS2-package from Technisat, what will install the SS2 as a Network-Driver ! ! !
YOU ONLY NEED THE SKYNET.INF and SKYNET.SYS files.

After installing succesfully, you have to select the B2C2-DIRECT-Interface in DD. NOT B2C2-SDK !!!!!!! Won't work either....
This should work normally as fast as no other one in the world and under XP there are absolutly NO problems !

If you have done this and signal / picture / sound is ok ... then do EXACTLY ( ! ! ! ) what is written in the Readme delivered with MIBI's driver.

NOTHING ELSE. NO EXPERIENCES NECCESSARY.

Attached you'll find the corresponding driver 4.4.0 originally from Technisat to install FIRST.
ONLY REPLACE THE SKYNET.SYS after INSTALLING AS DESCRIBED !

It's working!

Postby alexir » Thu Apr 03, 2008 6:35 am

Hi ScanMan! Thank you so much! It's working! For me it was big breakthrough. The dish moves without crashes and remote control works on satellite changes too. It's true I have problem with DD positioner setting .It seems to be more complicate than MiBi's plugin setting:
- The dish move quite on it own (may be some automatic tuning, I would like to switch it off)
- It’s not clear for which button which diseqc commands is start (I find out by test of all variations)
- How can I set the reference position of dish?
But it’s not such a big problem then previous. I will search in DD forum.
