Sound cuts out on HD

I hope I'm not missing something obvious but I reckon I've tried everything I can think of here.

Basically after about 30-60sec of watching (bbc hd on astra 28.5e) the sound cuts out. Video signal is perfect and stays that way. It's almost as if the audio codec? is shareware and is crippled though I've tried a few now with no joy, Nero8, ffdshow, currenly AC3 which all have shown up red for incompatible but work fine on the non HD channels.

Any clues?

AC3filter and Intervideo audio codec are the first two AC3 filters I would want to use.

I cannot get AC3 sound to work in Vista except with "Microsoft MPEG-1/DD audio decoder".

Are you using XP and 1.4i?

Yes XP and 1.4i, The card comes with Powercinema software that plays the HD channels fine but it's a pig to use and I much prefer a computer program to look like a program.
