Scanning curiosity

I note a scanning curio, its neither a bug nor a feature request, but I note that there are streams on transponders that do not get picked up. For example on E10, 12501H20000 spot 6 there are three streams that are unencrypted, true FTA. scanning does not pick them up. Both Altdvb and MT find em. Makes me wonder what else is up there in true FTA. Also, TSReader sees the streams, but also does not pick up the SID. When hitting "Analysis" and ALL PIDS the streams are there in DD. Playing with channel properties I am unable to obtain video or audio.

I also note that with DD I am unable to get ABCNews Now on IA8 (True FTA) 11962V3878, but can in other programs.

Any thoughts?

Hi,

if you can reproduce the same problem on both of Twinhan and Genpix with DD, and channels are regular DVB-S broadcasts, I will need some sample TS to examine.


here are details to obtain a TS sample.

When you see any scan or MPG-record issues , you must send a sample stream for further experiment and more extended observation of the problem .

How to capture a sample stream
1) enable "Full TS" mode in device options, restart DD
2) start "Stream Recorder" module on the problematic transponder, record about 100 mb
3) upload file to somewhere (FTP).

what does it say during scan ? Do PAT, SDT, PMT boxes get filled up? or just "No signal"

Yes, all the boxes fill up, i will capture some stream for you and figure out a place to upload it. No diff, TH v. Genpix.

Don't see a "full TS" option anywhere, no options to device options on Genpix and don't see that on the twinhan. I can set recording to TS (BTW MPG seems to just crash), but not sure I am getting the entire stream.

Do you mean Echostar-10?
Everything is fine here, both DD and TSR do a scan and find all channels names/parameters.
Though, I'm getting different spot-beam (Spot-beam 43 in may area) at 12501L20000.
So, you have to provide full TS record to rel to look through.
But if you said that TSR can not find channels either, what do you expect from DD?

btw, I don't see any clear channel on any 12501 tp on LyngSat

Try 11960V3979 FEC 3/4 (or Auto) - these are the values reported by LyngSat.
I don't see any tp with SR=3878 there.



PS: genpix adapter/driver always uses full TS.

Yes E10, I realize its kinda odd, but in spot 6 there are four channels that DD and TSR both see the PIDs and data in the stream, but neither detects them as channels.

So, you have to provide full TS record to rel to look through.

Well, both ALTDvb and MT find them, and, frankly, they are my local networks otherwise encrypted and I kinda wanna watch em.

They aren't listed on Lyngsat. I just noticed them when rescanning in MT, I had both scrambled and unscrambled on different transponders. They are there.
