Just tried on v2.1 and it seemed to work fine.

Can you confirm it happens in v2.1?

If you manually change channel name does it save that on exit?

If you use the CHLtools module and click on SaveCHL does it really save the setting?

yea it is on purpose. not a bug.
Some users accidently click on quick favorites buttons and lose channels in the list, they try hard to figure out why. so a restart will help . all channels will be back. Not all understand what quick favorite list is.
Maybe next version will have it optional to remember last selected quick favorites list. but it will be an option in preferences.
