DiseqC settings - Tried two switches without any luck

Postby TopTopTop » Tue Jan 23, 2007 8:21 pm

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to receive feeds from 91 and 82 with my Skystar 2 PCI card.
When I take each wire individualy, I can scan all tp's and everything is fine. When I put 91 in input 1 and 82 in input 2 and run DVB DREAM, only 82 works.

I tought it might be the switch and I bought a new one. Unplugged everything then plugged the switch and replugged everything... Still, no 91.

I've entered all kind of DiseqC settings but nothing works... Just the 82...

Both sats :
Lof-1 : 11250000 SW : 0 Lof2: 11250000

Can anyone help ?

ok, your LOF settings are fine, should be 11250.

What kind of switch is it? You're sure it's a Diseqc switch? Not a 22khz switch or something.
2 port? 4 port?
Even if it's a 2 port switch you're probably going to need to use the Diseqc 1.0/2.0 setting, just leave 2 port settings empty. The simple Diseqc setting is for a different style switch.
Is it a SW21? That's not Diseqc.

What DD version are you using?
there is only one LOF setting for NA Legacy LNB (there is NO sw or LOF-2).

Also, answer Rick's question: what DISEqC switch you selected in DD config?

When you say leave 2 port settings empty are you referring to uncommitted?

Just trying to figure out any signal here......

Thanks

leave uncommited Disabled.
Also, leave Raw diseqc empty.
just add proper Sats to Port 1 and Port 2 in the Diseqc tree (and nothing into Port 3 or 4).
Then configure LOF settings as for NA Legacy (I guess, you have legacy LNBs, right?), leave default LOF value.

Added new 110 to port 1 left settings (LOF) to default

first 3 no channels........ as I wait for more :)

Do I understand you correctly to NOT have Diseqc 1 or 2 checked?

Thanks once again

if you do NOT have diseqc switch select None.
if you have mini diseqc switch (2x1), select mini switch.
If you have normal 4x1 diseqc switch, select "1.0 or 2.0 switch".

You don't need to be a rocket scientist to understand that, do you?

PS: do you usually read the labels/manuals? Does you label/box from the switch say "diseqc protocol 1.x" or 2.x ?
If yes, why don't you select "1.0 or 2.0 from menu"? or it still does not ring a bell?

Makes perfect sense, as I did with all of the above.

Once no signal came back as results I thought it best to ask here for those who have more experience with given variables.

The Box states Diseqc 2
4 in one as selected with no results....

I always read the "labels" manuals when they apply, did a search here with no worthy results, thus the posts......

It rings a bell, but does not assist in getting any signal strength which really is my goal here, not to piss or frustrate

I really do Appreciate your "Help" and more importantly your time, I have tried the blatant obvious with no results , kind of what my ignorant idea of a forum is for I guess.....

ok,
you are posting and posting, but still can not explain us what you are doing.
You did not tell us what the switch you are using, what LNBs (do you know the difference between Dual and Twin?), what connections, etc.

If you can not explain the config in words (sorry, but your "4 in one as selected" or "first 3 no channels........ as I wait for more" don't make sense for me; I can not read your mind), try at least to post a picture.

For instance, like this
Image
One clearly can see:
port 1 - one sat
port 2 - two sats
port 3 - one sat
port 4 - empty

Show us such picture. If you can not explain in words the rest of the config, show pictures as well. And don't assume that there are non-important details (usually these omitted details are the keys of misconfigurations).

Well then...... Huff and Puff
If you would have Read my Signature you would have Seen the Legacy LNBs, but I am sure you never make mistakes.

That’s exactly what my set up looks like WITH OUT THE TWO 119 Birds I only have One, the 119 Echo 7 Bird

Under options, select preferences, select performance tab, Check mark "Always force to resend diseqc command", in box below that labeled "Diseqc repeat count" enter 2 or 3.

Use special switches modified for twinhan poor diseqc signal;

Change XX to tt.

Buy a Genpix adaptor the Diseqc always works !!!!

Probably nothing (since you decided NOT to give out details of your setup, and details of what you ALREADY did).

you did not even mention the problem you have.
What is it? switch is not switching (alway give you Sat from input #1)? or what?

Should I assume that you tried to manually scan single NON-spot-beamed TP on both sats, but always got channels from one sat?

I have a better plans on how to spend my spare time rather then guessing what you "forgot" to mention (like, what type of driver do you use, BDA or WDM).

Ha ha I would be fearful to ask for help with a Genpix........
Thanks much for keeping perspective and focus to resolve the issue, not create others.
I understand the importance of giving good info……

I will try your suggestion.
I have Sat 110 on port 1 of my 4x1 Diseqc and 119 on Port 2
I used default numbers for LOF1 and 2, with no results what so ever.

I get NO signal what so ever when scanned, I being new to this awesome piece of software have no understanding of previous issues with TwinHan or alike.
I have MyTheatre up and running just fine, yet had heard so much about DVB Dream I wanted to give it a shot.
I think this experience here has made my decision rather simple, by searching I can see it’s not just my issue.

I do appreciate your positive post.
