TS File Playback?

Postby casperc » Sat Mar 03, 2007 5:23 pm

I recorded a program using ts format, and copied it to another computer.
DvbDream does not play it back.
I set device to file and tried opening file, nothing happens.
I am using version 1.3c with windows xp sp2.

I don't have any problem with TS in DVB Dream. Try MPC or VLC.

No it should not. Can you play this file on the computer used to record the stream ?

TS File Playback

Postby casperc » Mon Mar 05, 2007 3:09 pm

When I try to play any TS file Using DvbDream on the same computer it was recorded on, DvbDream goes unresponsive and nothing happens.
I have to shut down DvbDream using Task Manger.
Files rang in size from 24k to 1.5 meg, same results for all.

Try to modify TS Records options [Options - Preferences - TS Records]

Still trying TS playback without sucess

Postby casperc » Thu Mar 15, 2007 8:55 am

I have tried all TS Records options, If I try playing a generated TS file Dream locks up and can only be shut down using W Task Manager.

VLC will not play it either.

If I ever get it to work, how would I pause a live show, and then continue, or replay a segment etc.?

I am using Plugin em**ation, is that an issue?

Issue also is not related to copying file to different computer, same results on Pentium 4 3.2GHz desktop and Turion 64 ML-34 1.8GHz Laptop

Try to disable all plugins and record any FTA channel, then enable plugins one by one.

Time shifting works, sort of, if I am watching a channel. I can pause and continue, move the position slider to skip ahead, or back.

I cannot however play back a ts file by itself.

The only Plugin I use is Em*, recording FTA with it disabled has no effect on the issue.

Also when I pause a show, and then restart I always have video and sound skip issues, for the first 10 seconds or so.

Have you tried the MPC?

Try to remove it completely from all DD folders and restart DD.

It's a known bug.

TS file record and playback

Postby casperc » Sun Mar 25, 2007 5:07 pm

It has been said that there are advantages to recording in ts format as opposed to mpeg, but if it won't work with my plugin or with DVB Dream, it has no advantage to me over mpeg.

I miss the point of trying other playback programs, or removing the plugin from all plugin directories, unless it is to help solve a common problem.

Are others able to playback recorded ts format in DVB Dream using a plugin?

It is interesting to me that I can timeshift using a ts file on a program that I am actively watching, pause, rewind, move forward etc., as opposed to one that I have recorded.
