I encountered small regularly dropouts in my recorded streams running DD with high priority. By the way I'm already recording to a HD which is not accessed by any other background activities (file indexing also deactivated).
So I think real time priority may help. But when I try to switch channels with real time priority the system completely freezes, even the mouse pointer. This is very frustrating when having unsaved documents in the background.
After using the reset button to reboot my system and starting DD again the "live" stream from the Skystar2 is corrupted then with heavy video and audio errors. The card seems to hold a strange state after the problem with DD. It can be fixed with deactivating and activating the device via device manager or powering off the computer.
real time priority + channel switch = compl. freezed system
