Is my computer too slow? Choppy video AMD X2 64 4200+

Sometimes having too many codecs can cause a problem. All want to be used at the same time . Try deleting all but, Cyberlink and Nvidia. Also dont use vmr9 use 7 instead ! 9 has always had problems like studdering and tearing in video imaging!

This topic is really curious. I just changed the skystar today forma my single core CPU to my AMD dual core CPU and have excatly the same problems. I did not had this problems on my single core cpu

found the answer!

if you have more than 1 cpu, set the cpu affinity in task manager to just 1 cpu... jerkiness is almost all gone!

if i change the channel then i need to set affinity again.

but anything i do will not make it flawless like any other app i use (mt, altdvb, ritzdvb).

dvbdream seems to be a very good program, a lot of upside, but the jerkiness of the video makes dvbdream unwatchable.

but i love recording into .ts, or it and altdvb has the capability which is great...

I'd like to ressurect this thread as I'm having the same problem on AMD 5200+ x2. So it sounds like it has something to do with Dual Core CPU's. a 5200+ x2 has PLENTY of horsepower. It's barely idling on SD channels and hardly breaks a sweat on HD. Has there been any progress towards a permanent solution. I tried all the suggestions. The prevent usage of more than 1 CPU must be enabled for sure but that's doesn't solve the problem. In Vista the Affinity is automatically set to 1 CPU if this option is enabled so don't have to mess with that. I had the same problem in XP though so I don't think Vista is the problem. I'm using the latest WDM drivers with a TwinHan 1020a.

Just changes it from freeze/unfreeze video to jerky but continuous video. Still not really watchable as it's like watching 15fps video shot on a picture camera.

Tried turning off power management too but no difference. This is obviously a major flaw that seems related to dual core. Since everything is dual core now I would think this should be a priority.
