In the positioner dialog you can drive a motor in multiples of seconds or steps. How much is a step and how much is a second?
Thanks.

Are you sure it is always that way. On my system a step appears to be about 1/120 of a degree. If I am on one of the strong circular birds I can easilly move 60 steps and still have a signal (wich I doubt you could do if 60 steps equaled 6 degrees). It also takes me about 240 steps to move from on satellite to another which is 2 degrees away. The problem is that I am not sure if this is always consistant. FYI, if it makes any difference I have an SG2100 motor.

I have the exact same motor and that is what I have always used and it has always worked. That is also what I have always read. It might be possible that power maybe an issue. According to the manual (see here: http://www.satcruiser.com/PubFiles/SG_2100.pdf ) rotation speed is also dependent on what voltage you are using 13/18 volts.
