CHANNELS DONT SCAN PROPERLY

hi new to all this any help please when i scan say on hotbird i dont receive all the channels only about 200 tried all different settings pos i have a skycard 2 sonic codecs and elecard all channels ok on prog dvb but much prefer dvb dream please help been at it 2 weeks regards steve
skystar 2 pci sonic and elecard p4 2.4 ghz nvidia graphics card

turn on NIT SCANING
