Crashes on channel changes (mpg4/h264 -> mpg2, and vice v

I have not found a stable combination of codecs yet that allows me to switch between mpg2 and mpg4/h264 without crashing. The most stable so far is:

DScaler v0.0.6.0 2/26/2005
Purevideo v4020.223.0.0 5/5/2006

renderer 9

CoreAVC 1.6.5.0 1/30/2008

I am able to switch back and forth between SD and HD with this, whereas using FFDShow or PureVideo for video ensures a crash every time.

just when I thought I had it working.. it just crashed the first time it rendered a channel, and the channel happened to be mpg2. I can't find much consistency. this is a lot more frustrating that I was expecting.. now I can't get that combo to work for SD (I start dream, hit control-K almost immediately for renderless mode before it gets displayed (it was on an mpg4/h264 channel), switch channel to SD, crash)

Is there ANYONE out there who has 100% success (including going back and forth between mpg2 and mpg4/h264)? if so can you please describe your hardware as well as the software codecs you are using?

I would be VERY MUCH interested in that also as I'm having the same problem as you......anyone with a BETTER solution??

dishguy, do you know if mytheatre supports the 8psk + skywalker + h264 all at the same time? I read somewhere that it wasn't supported yet, but maybe I understood that incorrectly.
