I need help with my diseqc settings.
I have the genpiz skywalker 1, dp 34, and the dn 1000 dish like this one:http://cgi.ebay.com/Dish-Network-HDTV-D ... dZViewItem
The d*sh has 1 dual lnb for 119, and 110, and a seperate one for 129.
I have 119 going to port 1, 110 on port 2, and 129 on port3 on the DP34.
I am just setting everything up for the first time. Using dvddream 1.4i
These are my setttings:
Diseqc type: 1.0 or 2.0
Port 1: 119
Port 2: 110
Port 3: 129
Then all have the following settings:
LNB Type: NA Bandstacked DPro Ku-Hi (DBS)
Diseqc commands: blank
22hz: off
uncommitted switch port: disabled
I seem to have a lot of duplicate channels and only one of the duplicates will work. This is leading me to believe that I do not have something set up correctly.
I do not have anything else but the genpix skywalker hooked up to the dp34. But when I do hook up and scan the sats with a dn receiver it picks up all 3 satellites correctly.
Thanks for your help!

This is just a guess, but I'm thinking you might need to use the raw diseqc commands to control the switch.
It's worth trying. Just select "none" for diseqc in the options menu and then add the sats you want.
In the sat menu use the raw commands that are in the thread that I pointed to. You may have to fiddle with the last hex digit.
In my case, the commands are:
110 - E0 11 38 F4
119 - E0 11 38 F0
129 - E0 11 38 FA
Good Luck
Something else to consider. You may not have enough power from the skywalker to operate the 34 switch properly.
You might want to connect the dish receiver up at the same time.
I discovered this when I disconnected my dreambox on another run from the 1000.2

Thank you for your help. I just scanned 119 now and am scanning 110 right now. Quicj question how do you know if the raw commands are correct? I used the ones listed in the other thread that you gave me and so far it seems like they work, but how do you know if they do not? This is just a guess, but I'm thinking you might need to use the raw diseqc commands to control the switch.

In my case it was trial and error.
I started with the info in the other thread and had to fiddle with the commands until it worked.
The first three should be fixed and the last set (F0 to FF) should select the port.
F6 didn't work for me but FA did.

E0 11 38 Fx is for switch integrated into LNB assembly.
E0 10 38 Fx is for standalone switch (this is exactly the command format used by DD for committed switch).
Thus, if you use external switch, you don't need to use raw commands.
You need either DPP switch or replace DPP Twin with DP Twin

Just getting back to working in this.
What would be my best option?
1)Bypass the dp34 and go directly to the d*sh 1000 and plug the feed for 129 in the built in switch.
2) Buy a DPP44
3) Buy a 1000.2 d*sh
4) Say the heck with it and watch cable TV

And what settings would I use for whatever option you pick?
Thank you for your help and guidance.
What settings would I use for it?
Thanks

Just a FWIW on the 1000.2 option. In my setup, I found that the genpix could not supply enough power to make the switch work properly. I found this out when I disconnected a dreambox that was connected to a second run to the dish. I'm pretty sure you will need another receiver or a power inserter attached for that option.
Cheers.

I may go that route it sounds like yours is working well?
IIRC you are sending the raw disque commands?

I have a Dish 1000 with 3 slim dual output dp pro lnbf's that do not have switches inside. I have them hooked up to a dp34 switch, can this work ok, or do I need to add a receiver to the line for extra juice? Do I have to add the receiver on an output port for the dp34 or can I just split the line going to the skywalker-1 and add the receiver there?E0 11 38 Fx is for switch integrated into LNB assembly.

*Update*
I ordered a Chieta 2041 heavy duty, should this work better and without the need for a 2nd receiver giving extra juice to the dp34?
