Is there a more thorough search for DVB-C?

I'm new to DVB and I need a little help.

I've managed to get the program up and running, but I'm only finding some of the my (digital cable) channels, and I'm not even sure where to look. (Is there some function that will do a slower, more thorough channel search than what I get using Auto-Scan?

Since I'm searching cable channels rather than satellite I really have no idea what all the settings mean. I have "Stellite" set to DVB-C Europe, but I'm not at all sure about the QAM, nor much of anything else! All I'm really clear about is that that I'm searching for digital cable channels in Switzerland.
