Can some one can point me in the right direction

Postby wilberforce » Mon May 10, 2010 11:38 am

Hello
I have been trying for the past 3 weeks to get my Prof 7301 to scan using DVB Dream 1.4 with no luck. I installed Alt DVB software and it scans OK so I know the Prof card is working.
I am wondering if I am having a problem setting up my invacom quad polar Legacy Lnb, ( I am setting Lof 1 to 10750 Lof switch to 0 and Lof 2 to 0) It powers up Dream and Alt DVB set this way but it will just NOT pick up anything on a scan using Dream 1.4.
I tried installing DVB Dream 1.5 today to see if that would work but when the software opens the computer crashes. I was not able to send the EUREKALOG I had to reboot using the power button.
The eurekalog presented itself on the screen at the moment of lock up.
I will try again and see if there is anyway I can copy the log and post it in the bug forum.
I would be thankful for any help.

I am setting Lof 1 to 10750 Lof switch to 0 and Lof 2 to 0
I don't know how DVB Dream treats the situation with sw=0 (could be some exception when sw = 0).

But in general, LOF selection is done like this:
If TP frequency greater then sw, LOF2 is used as a LOF.
Otherwise LOF1 is used. On top of that, driver has to use 22kHz tone to tell LNB which LOF to use (lof1 = tone Off; lof2 = tone On).

In your case (unless there is an exception mentioned above), 0MHz would be used as a LOF. And 22kHz tone would be ON.
Which is obviously wrong.

set lof1=lof2=10750000 (in this case, sw can be anything).
or
select LNB type as NA Legacy and set lof=10750000 (NA Legacy allows just one lof - which is exactly the case you have).

- follow what genpix said about LNB settings. No exception or special condition for SW=0.
- 7301 should normally work without problem. but better try with both bda interface (included in DD setup) and prof interface (can be downloaded from Prof's site)
- about eurekalog, take a screenshot from callstack tab and copy(PRINTSCR key) and paste(CTRL+V) to Paint (windows start menu->programs->accessories), then save it as file and attach here.
DVB Dream - because I have to dream about having time to code it
