Some other observations:
VMR-9 is the badest choice here.
Has more CPU-load with same codec (Core) and is more like stuttering/choppy - also sound breaks for a short while.
Best choice (here) ist Overlay Mixer !
No probs on sound, lipsync and only those little flickering. CPU-load araound 80-85 with my AMD 4000+
The flickering:
it looks like the video ist stretched in great percentage only (!) in horizontal way for those short moments.
I can watch it best when having a video with a logo somewhere - that dissapears...
Everytime any crazy buffer has the meaning to reset himself (half the way... memory comes down from e.g. 170 to 140 MB) there are those (1 sec ?!) freezing periods.
Also following is noticeable when i rised brightness/contrast:
Normally the not fullfilled VideoWindow-Area is a little bit grey.
When flicker appears it's always dark/black - Video itself seems to have the same brightness/contrast.
... time's to short to have/give more details.
Hope this was helpful
